1. IIST- Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), a ‘Deemed to be University’ under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, established by the Department of Space(DOS), Government of India, offers undergraduate, post-graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral programmes in broad areas of space science, technology and applications. The institute is committed to excel in teaching, learning and research. IIST fosters state-of-the-art research and development in space studies and creates a think-tank to explore new directions for the Indian space programme.

IIST has signed a MoU with USRA (Universities Space Research Association) of USA and California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for exchange of students and faculty. Under this scheme selected students can do their project work/ internship in USA. The topper of the B.Tech (Aerospace Engineering) from this institute will be sponsored to undergo an intense 9-months M.S. program at Caltech.

For admission to IIST B.Tech Programmes, candidates have to appear in JEE Main 2017 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and qualify themselves to appear for JEE Advanced 2017 conducted by IITs. Candidates have to secure the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in the JEE Advanced 2017.

2. Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research

To promote high quality scientific education, research and training, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has set up seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.

IISER Admissions 2017 will be conducted for admissions to approximately 1200 engineering seats offered in 5 year dual degree (BS+MS) programmes offered in 7 IISER campuses – Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati. Admission process –

IISER Admission Procedure 2017 will begin after the announcement of the result. The seat will be allotted on the basis of the availability of seats, ranks in the merit list and applicant’s preferences.

BS-MS Degree Programme

It is a five-year degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed (10+2) level. The program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions.

  • First two years of the program consist of core courses in basic sciences,
  • Third and fourth years are dedicated to specialization in chosen science subjects
  • Fifth year includes a research project.

3. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology

The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), Government of India set up The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Dist. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh through an Act of Parliament (“Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act 2007″). RGIPT has been accorded the eminence of being an “ Institute of National Importance” along the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). The Institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right. RGIPT is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading Oil Public Sector Units (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB) [ This however does not bind them to preferentially recruit from RGIPT ]. The Institute is associating with leading International Universities/Institutions specializing in the domain of Petroleum Technology.
